Transfer from Pointer's technician

To commence hosting transfer, email us your request at support@pointer.gr within seven days from the date on which you order the new hosting package with Pointer

• Free site transfer applies to those clients who have ordered any annual hosting package, except free and basic hosting packages
• To qualify for free hosting, you have to prove that the rest of the remainder of the duration of your hosting package with the previous company is up to six months.

Transfer without Pointer's technician

• Order your new package from Pointer's state-of-the-art order system.
• You will be sent an email by Pointer, containing the details of your purchased package (ftp passwords, Plesk or Cpanel access codes for hosting, domain name servers).
• Change the name servers in your domain through your registrar's control panel. After the change of the name servers, it takes approximately 24 hours to update your providers (OTEnet, Forthnet, Hol etc) so it would be wise not to interrupt hosting with your previous hosting provider, so that your site doesn't stop running.
• Once you change the name servers, it would be wise to adjust the email settings on Plesk or Cpanel (if you want to adjust the email settings  with the email codes and passwords you previously had, you don't have to adjust the settings on the email client you are using-Outlook etc-).
• Upload the site files, using the ftp codes/passwords we have sent you, or through the Plesk panel for which you have received access codes/passwords. The files will be uploaded on the httpdocs folder

I have a normal site with a database.

If you build your site in Joomla, wordpress or another CMS then we recommend the Bronze linux hosting. It will cover all the cases of construction site with database unless they use the ASP as programming language. The resources in this plan are unlimited for a regular site. Whether you choose Cpanel or Plesk hosting panel is as a matter of ...taste. The functions are almost the same. In the Bronze or Cpanel linux hosting, we give you unlimited email accounts.

I have more than one site.

If you manage more than one site, then you should choose a package depending on the number of the sites you manage. Silver linux gives your the ability to host up to five sites while the Unlimited linux give you tha ability to host unlimited sites. The truth is that these packages will give you few more resources if your site is a bit more ... challenging.

These are not enough for me

Since we mentioned the word 'challenging', if your requirements for disc, traffic, RAM grow or you already have a site with many visitors eg sports, great blog, etc. then we recommend to host it on a VPS or Cloud server. Can i earn money from hosting?

Windows, or Linux;

In all the above there is a special parameter called Windows. In our packages you can choose a Windows or Linux. This has nothing to do with your PC and the operating system you have in it. The main difference is that on Linux you can not upload a page that has used ASP or ASP.NET as a programming language. We have made a  page about the differences of Windows or Linux.

Eventually my site is 'small', without database

If you create a page in html and you are not using a database, then you can choose the Basic linux. With 1.9 per month you host your site and you also have five emails in order to do your ...job  easily.
